How long and challenging are the stages?
We are designing 5 completely unique and different stages for the competitors to race on. Distances will vary but expect to be in the saddle for a long hard day, similar to the other multi day stage races out there. The difficulty of each stage will again vary. The majority of our race will be singletrack and will suit good, solid riders with true off road skills. Expect a variety of climbs during the race as well, the competitors will need to be able to climb but also ride singletrack.
The area around Kamloops should present the racers with hot and dry conditions during the time of the event.
What kind of bike should I race on?
A light, short travel full suspension mountain bike is best suited to the terrain of the Intermontane Challenge. Each stage will challenge riders with classic cross country singletrack varying from fast, smooth terrain to rocky and rooty alpine trails.
Will a bike service program be available during the race?
Yes. There will be qualified mechanics available to keep your bike dialed in and running perfectly for the race. Riders should make sure that their bike and all gear is in good working order before the race. We are currently putting the final touches on our bike service program and will release the details soon!
Will I have an amazing time at the Intermontane Challenge?
Yes! We know that when the dust settles each and every racer will have had an awesome experience!
The trails are going to be the best designed of any stage race...the ability to now race in the solo or team category will be unique...all this combined with better food and accommodations will result in an amazing event to take part in. We also have a few fun surprises up our sleeves during the event too.....stay tuned!
